Tattoo Supply

Tattoo SupplyIf you are in training to be a tattoo artist, or you are opening your own shop, you need a good tattoo supply shop. There are many shops available, but not all of them are created equal. Whether you are looking for a store in person or online, there are some things you definitely need to look for.

The first thing you need to check out is the quality of their products. Does the store carry brands that you have heard of? Are these the sort of supplies you have seen in successful tattoo parlors?

If the store carries sub-standard or obscure brands, you should look somewhere else. A legitimate store will have quality supplies that are used by artists who are known for great work. There is no reason for you to reinvent the wheel by trying brands that aren’t well known. Get tried and true supplies and you will have a better business than many right from the get-go.

There are two very obvious reasons why getting good supplies right away is a good idea. First, if people see that you are using brand-name stuff that they have heard of before, they will assume that you know what you are doing and will be more willing to allow you to tattoo them. Second, you really are more likely to create great looking tattoos, and creating amazing tattoos is what is going to get you repeat business.

When you are looking for a tattoo supply store, make sure you find one that provides supplies to experienced tattoo artists, but also explains everything in a way that makes sense to a novice. This is actually a good measure of a store. Anybody can sell tattoo supplies, but if they can’t explain what it is and how it works, they may not actually know. Why would you want to get your supplies from a company that can’t or chooses not to explain its products?

You also need to make sure that the tattoo supply store that you are thinking of buying from has a wide variety of supplies. Tattoo machines, quality ink, and a good selection of tattoo needles all have to be available to you. You should also make sure the store carries power supplies, other parts for your tattoo gun, and things such as reference books.

The last thing you want is to be placing orders at multiple stores. This can just get confusing, especially when you’re trying to run a business. You should find one site that you are very comfortable doing business with and who carries everything you need. Then you should stick with them. This way you develop a long term relationship with the store, which has many perks.

Finally, look into their shipping and return policies. You don’t want to be spending a whole lot of money on shipping, so make sure their rates are fair. Also see if they will take damaged or defective items back. If they don’t, ask yourself if this is fair due to the sanitation nature of the products they sell. If you don’t think so, look at a different store.

Once you find a tattoo supply that you like, you will probably be working with them for a long time. You need one that you trust and are comfortable with so that you will be glad to work with them.
