Tattoo gun

Tattoo gunThe tattoo gun is the primary piece of equipment for tattoo artists. In that way, it is comparable to a paintbrush or pencil. These devices have come a long way over the years, and are currently advanced enough to allow the artist to tattoo very intricate designs without worrying about splotching.

Tattoo machines have been around since the late 1800s, and tattoos themselves much longer than that, but the tattoo machine and gun is today far more sophisticated than the rudimentary tube and needle setup that was used back then. Most of today’s tattoo gun models can be easily held in one hand, which is where the machine gets its “gun” designation.

Today’s tattoo machine utilizes a number of electromagnetic coils which serve to move needle bars up and down over the surface of skin. As the bars move, this creates perforations in the skin, and ink is injected into those perforations. The result is a permanent marking, or a tattoo.

Tattoo machines like this have helped to popularize the tattoo to the point where today it is a more popular and mainstream form of art than ever before. People from all walks of life get tattoos. Moreover, there are a wider and more diverse number of tattoo artists working today than during any previous time.

Today’s machine runs on alternating current. The machines are specifically designed to keep the current steady so that the artist is able to engage in smooth motions, and the amount of ink expelled stays steady and continual. These functions are also customizable so the tattoo artist can find the ideal speed and degree of penetration for his or her particular method and style.

The ease at which these tattoo guns work allows the artist to focus most of his or her attention to the design itself, without having to worry about technicalities.

Primarily tattoo guns and machines are used by professional artists in tattoo shops; however, there are a number of starter tattoo kits that can be used at home. Often starter kits will come with a kind of simulated skin, which allows someone interested in becoming a tattoo artist to practice without permanently marking someone.

Some of these home kits also include instructions for creating very basic tattoos that do not require a great deal of detail. However, for more complicated designs, it is recommended that you contact a professional tattoo artist, as even small mistake are both noticeable and permanent.
