Metallic Tattoo Ink

Metallic tattoo ink is one of the latest trends in the tattooing industry. The colors are difficult to find and largely untested for long term exposure so beware before getting a metallic tattoo. A good artist can make a tattoo look metallic through creative color mixing and design planning while using regular and thoroughly tested ink.

Metallic tattoo ink should be tested on the skin for two weeks before the actual tattoo is begun. It should be a small dot near the area that the tattoo will be in. Two weeks is a long enough time to see if there will be an allergic reaction or other adverse effects. If nothing happens it may be safe to tattoo with. It also may cause long term effects such as cancer or reproductive harm if they contain toxic or heavy metals in the ink.

Metallic tattoo ink should be thoroughly considered before it is undertaken. Many artists will not work with it because of the potential health and allergic reactions. 14k gold ink is becoming widely popular and although it is slightly more expensive than regular ink most of it appears to be relatively safe even over the long term.
